Privacy policy

This policy explains what Match Cut collects, why, where it is kept and how long. Contact for privacy questions and requests (grievance officer): Vamsi, support@matchcut.in, Bangalore, India.
What we collect
- Account details: name, email, mobile number, YouTube channel link, user ID and a hashed password.
- Footage you upload and the edits, thumbnails, titles and chapters made from it.
- Payments: plan, amount, date and Razorpay payment ID. Card, UPI and bank details go to Razorpay and never reach us.
- Free channel check: the channel link you enter, public data about that channel from YouTube (titles, lengths, dates, view counts, thumbnails), the report we make from it, and your email only if you ask for a copy. The thumbnails and titles are sent to Anthropic’s Claude AI service to write the notes in the report.
- Technical data: IP address and browser for security and to stop abuse. One cookie keeps you logged in. No advertising or tracking cookies.
How footage is processed
Footage is stored in Cloudflare R2 and edited on Match Cut’s own computer in Bangalore. To plan an edit, still frames, sound measurements and speech transcripts from your footage are sent to Anthropic’s Claude AI service. They are used to produce your edit, not to advertise to you. Number plates and, in incidents, faces are blurred automatically.
Who else handles data
- DigitalOcean (servers, Bangalore) - the website and account database
- Cloudflare R2 - footage and finished edits
- Razorpay - payments
- Resend - verification codes and notification emails
- Anthropic - planning the edit, and the notes in the free channel check, as described above
- Google (YouTube Data API) - reading public channel data for the free channel check
We don’t sell your data.
How long we keep it
- Uploaded footage: deleted 14 days after upload.
- Channel check reports: 90 days, then deleted with the email address given for them.
- Finished edits and thumbnails: until you delete them or your account.
- Account and payment records: while your account is open; payment records as long as tax law requires.
Your rights
Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act you can ask to see, correct or erase your personal data, and withdraw consent. Email support@matchcut.in; we reply within 30 days. Deleting your account removes your footage, edits and account details, except records we must keep by law.
Security
Passwords and login codes are stored only as hashes, all traffic uses HTTPS, and storage links expire after a few hours.
